Great market! Came here on the recommendation of a local store. The service was very friendly. I ordered the gyro combo with fries and a drink and when I said it was my first time the owner offered a sample of the fresh made hummus. It was very smooth and something I will get if I am ever back in the area. Big portions and a great meal!

I stopped in looking for kadaifi, it’s a pastry that I needed for this viral chocolate my teenager asked me to make. Huge pain in my arse b/c I had already been to Lotte & GranMart looking for it to no avail. I asked the new owner; Pehlo, at 2M & he also did not have it in stock, BUT...get this, he actually called a friend at a neighboring store & had it delivered to me at his store. It was raining & I was so freaking impressed with him & his hospitality. He went completely out of his way to make sure I was taken care of. While I waited I decided to order a chicken tawook & subbed it with lamb. Oh.My.Allah it was amazing! The lamb was by far the best I have had in Richmond. Not to mention the bread was fresh & the portion size was huge! I actually intended to save half for my husband, but devoured the entire thing (in my car) before I got home & just hid the evidence from him. What’s great about this store/restaurant is that not only is the customer service superior as well as the food & quantity, but it’s a diamond in the rough. You feel like you have found a hidden gem when you walk in. Take my advice....go in, ask questions about the menu if you’re not familiar with Mediterranean food & just enjoy the experience.

This is such a cute spot. The man that helped us was wonderful and made my sandwich fresh in the spot. They even have Afghan saffron which is one of the best saffrons. Definitely a suggested spot to visit!

Love this place and I cannot recommend it enough. Food is DELICIOUS. You can pick any item from the menu and you will not be disappointed. It's affordable too. Everything, and I mean everything, is delicious. The staff are friendly and they make sure you have a good time and that everything is okay with your food. It's nothing fancy and I think that's part of the charm of this place. The place is clean and even their restroom is clean! I can see myself as a regular here. The food is amazing. Do yourselves a favor and try their Afghan cuisine too. This place is humble but their dishes are proud. Go ahead and give them a try. You're welcome. :-) P.s. asked them to put the chicken soup in a cup because I intended to have it to-go but it was too good that I finished it before we left.

We had a fantastic experience at Salaam. i called from the train station and ordered Gyro meals to go for myself and a young man that I met on the train who offered to walk to Salaam with me so I wouldn’t walk alone. We enjoyed shopping while we waited for our food to be cooked and purchased some snacks to eat later. We walked back to the train station to eat our meals and they were still hot and delicious after the two block walk. The french fries were light and Krispy and the lamb gyros were perfect with the extra tzatziki sauce on the size. Drinks were included even Kefir and various real fruit juices, not just soda pop or water. Thank you, Salaam, for the excellent food and kind service. May you prosper with your new expansion.

Got a lamb gyro, some stuffed grape leaves with tzatziki, and my wife got the eggplant sandwich. The guy recommended it since it's takeout for us to eat the eggplant sandwich a different method (due to eggplant making sandwiches soggy during transport) and it was phenomenal! It was so much food. My wife and I ate it for for dinner and lunch.
